Classics & Performance
Restoration work and normal repairs for classic domestic cars, as well as some foreign vehicles. High performance engines for street and competition, or a refresh that makes a stock engine perform like new.
Diligence Auto specializes in classic domestic cars, as well as some foreign vehicles. We do restoration work, as well as normal repairs for most classics.
Our passion for motorsports and cars is shown in our attention to detail for custom work. We build high performance engines for street and competition, or just a refresh on a stock engine to make it perform like new.
Tuning and rebuilding carburetors is becoming a lost art in todays day and age, but we can work on and tune most carburetors. Also, we offer other performance upgrades such as turbo kits and supercharger installs, as well as corner balancing your aftermarket suspension. Tell us your dream, and let us make it a reality.
Our shop is just outside New Holland, one mile north of Route 23 on North Shirk Rd. Owner Cameron Stauffer was born and raised in Lancaster County and served 6 years as a mechanic in the Army Reserves. Cars are what we are passionate about, and we reflect that in every project we do.
Good to know: Interior and cosmetic restoration is handled through our outside partners, not in our shop.

Classics & Performance questions
What classic cars do you work on?
We specialize in classic domestic cars, as well as some foreign vehicles. Past projects include a 1935 Chevrolet truck, a 1953 Buick Special, a 1963 VW dune buggy, and a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. Call with the year, make, and model and we'll tell you if it's a fit.
Can you get a car running that has sat for years?
Yes. Many of our projects are barn finds: a 1986 Mustang GT that sat for around 20 years, a 1979 Trans Am that sat for over 30 years, and a 1953 Buick that hadn't moved in several decades. We rebuild what's needed to make them reliable and drive like new.
Do you build engines for racing?
Yes. We build high performance engines for street and competition, or just refresh a stock engine to make it perform like new.
Can you install a turbo or supercharger?
Yes. We install turbo kits and superchargers. On a 1987 Pontiac Trans Am GTA we built the rest of the install kit and piping, upgraded the fuel system, and installed a centrifugal supercharger and intercooler.
Do you tune and rebuild carburetors?
Yes. Tuning and rebuilding carburetors is becoming a lost art in today's day and age, but we can work on and tune most carburetors.
Do you corner balance?
Yes. We corner balance aftermarket suspension.
Do you do paint, bodywork, or upholstery?
Interior and cosmetic restoration is handled through our outside partners, not in our shop. Our shop handles the mechanical, electrical, and engine work.
Can you keep my classic's original systems?
Where it makes sense, yes. On a 1935 Chevrolet truck we kept the original 6V system and built a new wiring harness from scratch to run all the lights and switches.
